AUTHENTICATOR HELP

How to use your authenticator

Need an authenticator app? Authenticator apps are typically free in your phone’s app store. Google Authenticator and Microsoft Authenticator are common options.

You can also use 1Password or another app that supports standard authenticator codes.

First-time setup

Install or open your authenticator app on your phone. Inside the authenticator app, choose Add account and then Scan a QR code. Use the scanner inside the authenticator app to scan the QR code shown on this Quest screen. Do not scan it with your phone’s regular Camera app. If you cannot scan it, use the setup key shown under “Enter the setup key manually.”

After adding the account, your authenticator app will show a six-digit code for Quest Commonwealth. Enter the current code in the box on this screen and select Verify and open workspace.

Returning sign-ins

Open your authenticator app and enter the current six-digit Quest Commonwealth code. No text message is sent. The code changes about every 30 seconds.

If this is a private computer you regularly use, you can select Remember this device for 30 days. Your password is still required at each sign-in, but the authenticator step can be skipped on this browser for 30 days.

Keep the Quest Commonwealth entry in your authenticator app. If you lose access to the device or remove the entry, contact the administrator before trying to set it up again.
